Nara Royal Hotel

Two out of the three restaurants were closed , forcing us to scramble when entertaining guests since it disrupted our dinner plans. The room we had was clean, but it showed signs of age, with worn carpets and a general feeling of needing a refresh. Renting a bike from the hotel is an option, but the immediate neighborhood itself isn't particularly exciting for tourists, requiring effort to discover local dining spots.

Double room I stayed at was huge on a cute japanese garden. There were an electric kettle and refrigerators in the room too. The setting was good, near to the park and shopping places, the train station and shopping area.

The staff was very slow.

The efficient and excellent staff accommodated all the needs The twin room with great water pressure in showers, facilities worked for us.

The old-world charm was nice, but I found ants in my room.

I really enjoyed the grand dining area overlooking a beautiful Japanese garden and the incredibly friendly staff throughout my stay. However, I was disappointed that the onsen facilities looked quite outdated compared to what was advertised.

It's a quiet little and great hotel for a trip in Nara.

Good service, efficient and helpful staff during stay. Brand-new and well furnished room with extremely comfy bed and smoke detectors for safety measures. Spacious private bathroom. Early check-in, parking onsite:)))

I enjoyed the spacious Twin Room A Non Smoking with a lovely view of a traditional Japanese garden. The on-site public onsen was a good retreat, allowing multiple access times throughout the day.

Location is not ideal.

The onsen was a good surprise, with free access for hotel guests, awesome for a rejuvenating experience. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety, with both Japanese and Western options.

Some amenities could use an update.

The twin room was surprisingly spacious by Japanese hotel standards. Beds were comfy with decent pillows, and I loved having a top sheet! The decor was a bit tired but that was fine considering the price. The real treat was the free onsen. Didn't expect to enjoy it so much! Although the carpets are worn, everything was clean, and the staff was super helpful.

Just a nice choice for a weekend vacation in Nara, with all in all great value for money. The on-site onsen was free. Make sure to ask the staff for tips on local dining options. They're quite helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay here, especially how easy it was to walk to attractions like Nara Park, just a bit over 3 km away, and the lovely restaurants nearby , made dining hassle-free.

Staff was super friendly and helped us out when we had a small billing issue. Well-done 👏

Totally recommend for a budget stay

Cozy room, attentive staff made our stay enjoyable with clear explanations of the onsen facilities and breakfast options, as well as ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable visit while being conveniently located near public transportation.

Everything was as perfect as can be.
